Annette Funicello was an American performer and a singer. She was best known as one of the original "Mouseketeers" in the show 'Mickey Mouse Club.' In her teens Annette began singing and became a household name for the songs 'Tall Paul and Pineapple Princess'. Annette was brought up in Utica by Italian-immigrant parents. The shy girl was a young child. To make her name in the entertainment business her first step was to begin dancing and perform. Around the middle of 1950, she appeared in several 'Disney' sketches as part of one the "Mouseketeers" as well as gaining considerable fame. Annette's "Disney" persona was discarded after she turned an adult and began playing adult roles. Annette is most well-known for one of the first actors to introduce the category of "beach events". Her appearances in movies included as "How to stuff a wild bikini,' 'Pajama Party,' and 'Beach Party.' She also continued to release her albums with music periodically. Annette passed away in 2013, following receiving a diagnosis in the year 1992 of MS.
