Sofia Vergara

Sofia Margarita Vergara Vergara was born and lived in Barranquilla, Colombia. Margarita Davila de Vergara is her mother. Julio Enrique Vergara Robayo is her father. He is the one who provides livestock for the industry of meat. She is one of five sisters. She attended a private bilingual Spanish/English school. After completing her pre-dentistry studies in the field, she started working in the television and modeling business. Sofia was discovered by a cameraman while at the beach. After that, she began to work in modeling and television. When she was 23, she was a runway models. She hosted the travel show Fuera de serie (1996) between 1995 and 1998. This allowed her to be exposed to Americans. Her debut film appearance was on the crime-comedy Big Trouble (2002). Gloria Delgado Pritchett was the role that made her popular on Modern Family, an American show on television (2009). In the period 2010-2013, she won 4 Emmy nominations, including Outstanding Supporting Actress on a Comedy Series for this role. Sofia lives with her son Manolo at home in Los Angeles.
